Here is a once in a lifetime chance for the serious vintage collectible doll lover. This is also a fantastic investment for anyone that loves the Dy-Dee baby dolls by the Effanbee Doll Company.
This is an exquisite Dy-Dee vintage very collectible baby doll in superb condition. Dy-Dee was advertised by Effanbee as “the almost human doll.” This offering included this gorgeous Dy-Dee Doll, her original UNOPENED layette and we’ve added her original pink party dress with matching dress, matching slip, undergarments, shoes with original stockings and the most sought after hard to find pink Dy-Dee coat with matching bonnet all in mint condition. This vintage baby doll and layette and all her accessories were made by the Effanbee Doll Company during the 1940’s. That’s almost 70 years! So without a doubt this is one of those once in a lifetime chances. As you can see in the photos her coloring is stunning, with beautiful rosy lips and cheek blush. Her russet brown molded hair is in excellent condition except for a few minor rubs from laying in her case. Little Dy-Dee darling has attached ears in very good condition. They show just very minor wear as is expected after all these many years since being “born”. Her body is in fantastic condition and her limbs while easily movable are still tight and firm. The only a couple tiny minor craze lines I see on her body is where her head attaches to her body which is very typical of any doll. She has dazzling clear bright brown sleep eyes with all her lush lashes and beautiful painted lower lashes. She only has on her face one pinpoint spot but I would rather not try to see if I can remove it because as you can see in her photo’s it can’t even be seen and only noticeable if you bring her right up to your eyes. This baby doll is ALL ORIGINAL and has not been touched up in any manner. These precious Dy-Dee vintage dolls love making bubbles with their bubble pipes, very much like the American Character Tiny Tears vintage dolls. Dy-Dee’s all original layette includes her yellow sponge duck, laundry bag with four wooden clothespins, packet of bubble bath and her own towel, pink diaper pail, Cashmere Bouquet bar of bath soap and wash cloth, Q-tips, glass baby bottle with rubber nipple, blanket, metal baby spoon, plastic bottle cover, pacifier and last but not least her Dy-Dee sipping straw. None of her accessories have ever been used or removed from the case. The original cellophane is mostly intact but there are some areas where it has torn due to age. Also included in the case are her original Dy-Dee tag, original booklet from Effanbee titled, “What every young mother should know” by Aunt Patsy and even her original price tag from a department store called Tabors. The original ribbon that tied her into the box is still in place along with the original tissue paper.
Her original pink party dress with matching slip is in mint condition as is her highly sought after pink coat and matching bonnet. We’ve seen this very same coat set on the rare occasion it’s found sell at auction and other web sites typically for $350 and up! Crazy isn’t it but it’s a matter of supply and demand and this is rarely found but the demand is very high. She is also wearing her adorable vintage oil cloth doll shoes and stockings.
This is an incredible doll and layette with everything you would want for your Dy-Dee baby doll including the pink party dress and pink coat set! What a dream to behold!
